HTML5 is a markup language used for presenting content on the web.  It is the fifth revision of the HTML standard.  The goal of this release is to support the latest multimedia while still maintaining the human-readable aspect and consistently utilized by devices.

In the new version of HTML, HTML5 has added new tags such as <video>, <audio>, and <canvas> for 2D drawing, support for local storage, new content-specific elements like <article>, <footer>, <header>, <nav>, <section> and new form controls like calendar, date, time, email url and search.
