RentSmart is a property management software company offering tools for landlords and tenants. Its platform supports property searches, rental management activities, and online educational resources designed to help landlords manage their properties and navigate common real estate responsibilities.

RentSmart’s founder, Justin Anderson, wanted to create a platform that combined the tools needed to manage rental properties and provide educational resources for landlords.
Drawing on 20 years of real estate experience, he envisioned software that could support the rental lifecycle, from property listings and tenant screening to payment tracking, maintenance requests, and move-out inspections.

The application incorporated property management functionality and integrations with third-party services, including Swipe for payments, TransUnion for credit checks, DocuSign for electronic signatures, and document storage capabilities. SOLTECH also designed and developed backend functionality to support online video training.
To balance functionality with cost, SOLTECH combined custom development with WordPress-based components rather than building every feature from scratch. This approach delivered the required platform capabilities while keeping development within RentSmart’s budget.
