CUSTOMIZED CLIENT PORTAL
Case Study
Client
Fusionetics was formed by a group of sports and wellness professionals including sports medicine doctors, physical therapists and professional athletes. With extensive past experiences in internet-based health and wellness services, Fusionetics wanted to create a new product that would offer online assessment tools to identify imbalances and dysfunctions in the body and then automatically generate a treatment plan as well as provide a personalized portal to track treatment activities and progress.
Business Challenge
The Fusionetics solution would require several key components:
- Content management of pictures and videos to assist users in performing assessments and treatment exercises
- A scoring engine to process assessment results of a variety of tests and generate a treatment plans
- Multiple user experiences to support the different service offerings for end-consumers, athletes, professional sports teams and medical facilities
- Back office reporting and administration tools to support team managers, facilities, and Fusionetics’s operational staff
To achieve this vision, Fusionetics understood that it was important to design an enterprise-level platform out of the gate. Although the product would be rolled out in phases with a focus on the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) the long-term vision needed to be specified up-front and the product designed with this vision in mind.
To help Fusionetics actively sell the new product to professional sports teams and athletes prior to launch, we created a project plan that would give Fusionetics the ability to demo the in-progress application as soon as possible.
“Our software is easy to use, people love engaging with it.”
“We have a very high-level enterprise system that has been adopted by 18 professional teams and nearly 20 collegiate teams to date.”
Solution
SOLTECH led Fusionetics through a ten-week Design and Discovery effort where the team met face to face and collaborated on the application design, screen layout, data structures and platform requirements for the Fusionetics system. The effort resulted in wireframes, system annotations, process flow diagrams and data structure diagrams before being handed over to SOLTECH’s development team for implementation.
Understanding that the best product feedback would come directly from customers, Fusionetics and SOLTECH defined the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) from the completed solution design and focused the implementation plan on building the MVP over a seven-month period.
Following the successful delivery of the MVP and further enhancements based on customer feedback, Fusionetics was in a position to bring the software development in-house. With SOLTECH’s recruiting services, SOLTECH was able to find a lead developer and integrate them into the SOLTECH development team for onboarding. Over a short period of time, the application and product knowledge was successfully transitioned and the SOLTECH project team was able to roll-off the project as Fusionetics’ internal IT team grew.
Impact
Fusionetics was able to successfully build and launch their Sports Medicine platform with an accelerated schedule while building a strong customer base both before and shortly after product launch. At the time of writing, Fusionetics has 18 professional teams and 20 collegiate teams as customers who are actively using the product.
