SOLTECH Spotlight: Thomas McCracken, Interface Engineer
By SOLTECH
Thomas is always on top of his design game as an Interface Engineer, despite spending his time outside the office entertaining two rambunctious boys and a notoriously hyper Husky, Django. But, for a fellow who hiked the west coast of Costa Rica in a month, his energy is seemingly never-ending. Thomas is also carving out a bit of time to study deep learning, AI, and robotics; so when the machines take over, you know who to thank.
What’s your favorite app?
Google Earth/Maps. It’s a very useful app, but I also just enjoy choosing random places and going to Street View. It’s like being able to travel anywhere in the world right through your device.
What do you enjoy most about working for SOLTECH?
I enjoy working with newer technologies, of course, but I also really enjoy working with a bunch of great people and providing our clients solutions that change the way they work.
If SOLTECH were a TV show, which character – from any sitcom, drama, or reality show – would represent you?
The Fonz – heeeyyy!
If you could have a drink with anyone, living or dead, who would it be and why?
This is a tough one. I guess I’ll say, Ernest Hemingway since he liked to drink and has to be good for conversation, right? I just assume crazy writers are good for conversation for some reason, I don’t know. Next question!
What is the most unbelievable thing to ever happen to you?
Oh, easy one – met my fiancée. (She’ll probably be reading this.)
If you had to eat the same meal for the rest of your life, what would you eat?
I’m going to say tapas because then I wouldn’t have to live without variety. I can’t do the same thing over and over.
If you were in a band that only sings songs about technology, what would be the name of your debut album?
Dysfunkshinull.
Pizza or tacos?
Both. Lots of both.
